Sock Sizing for Wide Feet
Good Afternoon,
Looking into upgrading my sock allocation - For Sizing no chart really mentions Wide feet and if that plays a part into specific sizing.
I wear Alden 10 EEE in Oxfords / 10.5EEE in some particular lasts. | 9.5EEE in Boots
Crockett & Jones had me at 9.5G UK (Which is 10.5 'Wide' in US sizing)
I'm looking at London Sock Co. & Bresciani/Pantherella and Pantherella is the only one that offers hyper-specific sizing, the others are like "Size 9US - 10.5US" which I'm on the very cusp of. Just wondering if I should order a Large or stick with Medium.
Thanks~

Not sure I've ever heard of wide socks. The material is so stretchy that as long as you don't pick some crazy compression socks, it should matter. Fairly certain those are based on length of the sole, and I always size down, as I hate when the heel cup is too far up my ankle. Width should have very little impact.
I'm an 8EEE, never bothered me
Ayyy thank you, answered / +1
I'm not a wide foot but I do have a very large foot (13 1/2 - 14 depending on brand). Be aware that many one size fit all brands definely do not fit all.
I have wide size 11 feet and uniqlo socks fit me perfectly
Also pantherella does hyper specific sizing because many of their socks do not contain any elastane
zero stretch, check the composition carefully
non-stretchy socks sound INSANE
Oh that's actually super nice to know. I didn't even notice, yeah with "100% Cotton" there literally isn't stretch involved, wild
there is a minor amount of stretch just due to being knitted, just a little bit of natural stretch that's enough to get it over your feet but not so much that it will provide flexibility in sizing
same deal with Corgi btw
