I'm new to C# and i need to know something

I'm trying to learn C# to code in unity but im practicing in visual studio code, but when i look up tutorials for C# i always see them coding in visual studio. Why is that?

because visual studio has more tools and is generally a better IDE especially for beginners it's also been around a lot longer than VS Code and VS Code is less of an IDE and more of an editor with extensions that can add support for different languages with varying results

Windows-Apps? - You mean Desktop-Applications? - And Mobile, like MAUI I guess. You surely ain't the first and not the last one with a good game/app idea - but it's a long long way to go from zero to hero. Development ain't just a bunch of ChatGPT output - people study that topic (computer science) for years and decades and still need a team to make a game, you know, somebody has to code, someone else has to do SFX & GFX and so on.

Visual Studio just has a bunch of built in stuff and works right off the bat with C#. If you're using VSCode you're going to need a bunch of extensions and configuration to get it to work with whatever project you have in mind.

the game doesn't really need sfx and gfx its 2d and it's just a text generation game the game its based off of is really greedy so if i make a better version that cost 4.99 and doesn't have ANY ads or things you need to buy to get the full game people will flock to my game oh then i can just use vscode

Just because it's 2D doesn't mean it's not art. 2D gfx and pixel-gfx is art at all. - But, besides that, you seem to only see the money not the art in this, like, coding. People who writes code are authors and writes prose in the language of logic. - However, if you don't have 27GB (the space of a free USB drive) for an actual IDE instead of a texteditors with plugins. I can't help ya, nobody can. Wish you good luck on your way and may the dollars be with you ❤️

Note that you must have more than money in mind Otherwise you'll fail halfway through the project or like many others right at the beginning :stare:
