Conferences: What has been the general consensus on attending (multi-day/1-day) conferences as someone who is OE? Have there been horror stories of conflicting meetings between employers, coworkers, and the like? I am pretty curious for any feedback here as I used to go to a lot of conferences in my industry in tech, and now I am having second thoughts due to (obvious) contamination. Have people made it out unscathed? I am semi-popular and still building a name for myself. Thanks.

i actually just recently attended workday's devcon while OE, as well as kubecon in 2023
there hasn't been any consequences that i've gone through
the only thing is i wouldn't spend too much time talking to young aspiring people who may try to research you too much lol

You can go. It's a risk. My advice is to not have your name tag visible unless you have to. Most people won't link a face to a name without the name tag to confirm.
