MineOS Java 21 help
Hello all!
I am attempting to get a Minecraft 1.21 server set up for my friends and I on a Proxmox VM with MineOS. I am pretty new to this, so I had to follow a couple of tutorials.
I know the issue (after some research) is that Minecraft 1.21 uses Java 21 now, but whenever I try to start the server with Java 1.21 selected, it does not start. I’ve seen posts about people just updating their Java on whatever OS they use, but I am directly using mineOS as the installed software.
Does anyone have any way I could try and update Java to get this fixed, or another solution?
Thank you!

mineos is not a good idea
its just not good at all
would recommend learning either how to install ptero, get AMP, or use smth easy to install like pufferpanel/crafty
Ptero being Pterodactyl?
I've heard a lot of good things about that, I just thought mineos would be simple lol
yes
if you want something simple and only want to host mc servers, so Crafty.
just make sure you install java 21 on the machine as crafty won’t manage that for you
I can use the most recent ubuntu distro for crafty right?
ubuntu 24.04 released like 1.5 months ago, so might be best to use 22.04, but it likely doesn't matter
