Error VAN -79 typically indicates a connection issue with the Vanguard anti-cheat system. Here's what you can try: 1. Restart PC and Router: Sometimes a simple restart of both your computer and your router can resolve connection issues. 2. Run as Administrator: Ensure VALORANT and the Riot Client are running with administrative privileges. 3. Whitelist VALORANT and Vanguard: Check your firewall and antivirus software to make sure both VALORANT and Vanguard are allowed through. 4. Network Reset: Open Command Prompt as administrator and run the following commands:
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset

5. Reinstall Vanguard: Uninstall Riot Vanguard through the Control Panel, restart your PC, then launch VALORANT to prompt a reinstallation of Vanguard. If these steps don’t resolve the issue, please refer to Riot Games Support for more detailed troubleshooting or to submit a ticket.
