It's not uncommon to experience FPS drops after a new update, especially with the addition of new maps or content. Here are a few steps you can try to improve your performance:
1. Update Drivers: Ensure your graphics drivers are up-to-date. Visit the manufacturer's website (NVIDIA/AMD) to download the latest drivers.
2. In-Game Settings: Double-check your in-game graphics settings. Sometimes updates can reset or change settings.
3. Close Background Programs: Ensure there are no other processes using significant CPU/GPU resources.
4. Optimize Graphics Settings:
- Lower settings like Shadows, Textures, and Anti-Aliasing.
- Disable V-Sync and enable Full-Screen mode.
5. Windows Performance: Set your Windows power settings to 'High Performance'.
6. Shader Cache: Clear the shader cache. This can often help with performance issues after updates.
7. Reinstall VALORANT: If the problem persists, try reinstalling the game.
If none of these solutions work, consider submitting a ticket to Riot Support for further assistance.
