Unnamed/Uncommon Brands

Does the lack of a name/commonality of a certain brand, or its presence in a resale store, automatically discount its quality? For example, I found this one with a tag and logo, but I can’t find the brand at all (it might be upside down, I’m not sure. That’s the orientation the inner patch was stitched on). Are these generally to be avoided?

No, you can't really make that assumption, it's just up to you to judge the quality for yourself. More important though is whether or not you like it.

in my experience i've had some great finds from "unknown" brands that may not have the marketing budget or cachet of their competitors. like casey said it's about the individual item

that said that tag is for lief horsens; i do not know of this brand but that may give a sense of what to expect https://liefhorsens.com/

I mean, apparently 42R is somehow the rarest suit size, the others I found were an awful fit due to placement of seams etc This one fit well. And felt really nice too Sometimes I’m just a little confused you can find stuff like that for $120 (jacket and pants) as opposed to the avg $300

42R being rare makes sense in a secondhand store, as it's more common to be bought at full price from a retailer i've benefitted from some great deals like that and, as long as i've made sure there's no issues in fit or craftsmanship, then one man's trash is my treasure

Ah Yeah, like for the most part it fits well The only issue I’ve been having is the lapel bends/bunches up if I raise my arms into a T, but it isn’t a severe issue since I’m not cosplaying the letter T But compared to every other 42R I’ve tried that I could find which was in my price range it fit WAY better Some of them were too wide (both ways), or the sleeves were done weirdly and they would always bite (and the entire half of the jacket would come up)

It’ll do that, but only if I raise my arms straight out (not my photo)

Which I have no clue how to fix

it's best to go by the measurements of the item vs the stated garment size; even with mainstay brands there can be variance in how its measured if it does the pooling only when you lift your arms out to some extent that's just from the action if it did so at rest then i'd say maybe it's a fit issue; if you're unsure you can always make another thread with pictures to see 👍
