It's a mixed bag. These rigs are directly ripped from the game itself (These are the same models that are used on the agent select screen). The only thing I did manually was set up the rig for it. The rig itself is good but the mouth can prove to be difficult at times. Making the agent smile/laugh is one of the harder tasks. Animating mouth movement is generally pretty simple once I've made a library of general mouth poses, I just select the moment in the animation and apply the appropriate pose from the library and make minor adjustments based on stuff like expressions. Pictured: The library that I've made that contains all the mouth poses.

The panel on the left of the rig was also custom made by me for controlling basic facial movements. Using this panel makes viewing and editing facial expression a lot easier. Without the panel, facial animation would have had to be done using these tiny cubes dotted on the face. You can imagine that using those would be more difficult than using the panel.
