Looking for advice on how to dress for upcoming all hands meeting for a federal government job.
I have worked from home for the past 5 years and kind of forgot how to dress.
I'll be attending a company all hands meeting in a couple months in DC. I'm not presenting or anything, just an attendee. I'm sure I could get away with just wearing a collared shirt and slacks or something but I don't mind getting dressed up a little more since I don't get the opportunity often. I'm just not entirely sure what would be appropriate in this setting.
Sports coat and dress pants that are different colors to keep it more casual? Should I go more professional since it's a gov job meeting in DC? I'm probably overthinking it, just looking for some advice/inspiration

The classic Navy Blazer, Chinos, OCBD, and a tie never fails.
I'm inclined to agree with this, knowing nothing else about your specific company or its culture.
I work as a government contractor around DC and I asked about what to wear for our first all-hands meeting in person; I was told "business casual" and wore a blazer, OCBD khaki and loafers, having taken off my tie - I was probably the most formally dressed aside from our company's leadership but it's better to be overdressed than the opposite.
may I know what "OCBD" stands for?
ocbd = oxford cloth button down shirt
oxford cloth is heavier and more rugged than something like poplin or broadcloth used in dress shirts. OCBDs will also have buttons to secure the collar vs collar stays, which make it more casual
Thank you sir 🙂
