AMD 7900XTX Power Cap Issue on Bazzite
First of all, I want to express how impressed I am with Bazzite. It is a marvelous operating system, and I truly appreciate the hard work and dedication that has gone into building it. I am excited about the potential of using Bazzite as my primary gaming OS.
However, I am experiencing an issue with my AMD 7900XTX GPU being capped at 300 watts on Bazzite, whereas on Windows, it is capped at 403-463 watts.
Here is what I have tried so far:
1. Added the amdgpu.ignore_min_pcap=1 kernel parameter to the GRUB configuration.
2. Edited the /boot/loader/entries/ostree-2.conf file to include amdgpu.ignore_min_pcap=1 in the options line.
3. Used the rocm-smi tool to verify the power settings, which showed a maximum package power of 339 watts.
Despite these efforts, the GPU remains capped at 300 watts. Can you please provide further assistance on how to adjust or remove the power cap?
Thank you for your support and for creating such an amazing OS.

For #2 the way you edited that is wrong, use
rpm-ostree kargs
That being said, that's just removing the minimum and does nothing for the maximum
If LACT won't let you increase it I'm afraid you're at the mercy of AMD and their work in the kernel, they create the interfaces that LACT uses and/or are used from the terminal
I know the 6xxx series is fine, so I suspect this is on AMD's radarHi,
Thanks for your response!
I’m really new to Linux (noob level: max). This is the first time I’ve heard about LACT, and I’m going to give it a try as soon as possible!
