Installation Problems
Hi, to begin with, I’m new to Linux, so sorry if this is obvious to some. I'm installing Bazzite on an old Dell Optiplex 7040, which I want to use as a Steam Machine/Steam Link. Until now, I’ve used it for that purpose with Linux Mint.
The installation is going great until the second restart, where I just land on a command window where I can log in and use the ujust commands. However, I don't know what I need to do from here, how to get to Gaming Mode, or how to get back to the desktop.
System Info:
CPU: Intel Core i5-6500T @ 2.50GHz
RAM: 8 GB DDR4 SDRAM
Storage Capacity: 500 GB SSD
Thanks for any help.

gamemode session will not work on that igpu
you will need an intel arc card or an RDNA gpu (polaris worked before but there is a bug or regression upstream that stops it from working)...

I can get up to this point.
I'm guessing that steam didn't finish setting up or something. you could try typing
/usr/bin/startplasma-wayland
to get back into desktop mode
Also what GPU does your device have?I only have the onboard GPU
got back to Desktop, but when I click on Steam it just shows the Loading symbol
Open up "System Monitor" close steam. Then try and open steam from the terminal
/usr/bin/bazzite-steam
and see if you get a useful error messageOK Thanks it is updating
ok once steam is installed and set up you should be good
Just restarted after Steam was finished, got back to the command window and had this window once I was on the desktop
when i click on Return to gaming mode it just closes Steam, but nothing happens after that.
It is ":0" so I'm confused why it is giving me the error message

OK, sad but Thanks for the info
yeah your best bet would be using bazzite desktop image and start big picture mode at startup @Halenox with that igpu but i cannot guarantee if it will perform well
I used it in Bigpicture Mode in Mint worked fine, since i only use it with SteamLink or Moonlight
yeah then it will work the same
