TelemFFB Crashing
Sorry for the noob question. I was altering the settings for the UH-1H (DCS) in TelemFFB and it just closed down. I tried launching it again.. and it closed down after a second on screen... I redownloaded the latest TelemFFB and extracted it and launched it and it closes down after 1 second. I have rebooted and get the same behaviour...
Any ideas? Is there a log file produced to trace these kind of 'behaviours'?
TIA

Can you check the log file located at
You can also try this... - rename
Users/<your username>/AppData/Local/VPForce-TelemFFB/log
to see if there are any errors shown? It will be called TelemFFB_FFFF-2055_joystick_<datestamp>.log
. You can drop the log here or DM it to me.
Seems like either the TelemFFB registry settings or your userconfig got corrupted (more likely the latter). You can also try this... - rename
\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\VPForce-TelemFFB\userconfig.xml
to something like old_userconfig.xml
and then re-start TelemFFB. This will force the creation of a new blank user configuration.
If TelemFFB starts, then somehow the user config got corrupted and I would like to find out how. The aforementioned log file may provide more info. Also the more you can tell me about what you were changing. Thanks, I think I have a lead on it... I managed to get TelemFFB to launch some how randomly, but when I selected the UH-1H profile in Setting Manager it closed. This led me to think a profile was corrupt or something... I looked at the log file and it led me to my Saved Games folder>DCS>Scripts and I foung a telemffb.lua file there. I deleted it and TelemFFB now opens OK
ah... it just closed again whilst editing
but has opened successfully
let me get you the log file
Hmm... that shouldn't be the direct cause. That lua script is what is responsible for generating the telemetry that is used by TelemFFB. That file is static and is placed there by TelemFFB when it asks you to install the DCS export script on startup.
Can you start TelemFFB if the sim is paused/your are not actively in a flight?
the sim is not open
Yeah, log file and the userconfig.xml I mentioned also will be helpful.
I want to get you operational but I also want to try to figure out what happened so I can try to fix whatever condition caused it.
of course
here ya go
first time I was using the Settings GUI screen with DCS open... now am using the Settings Manager screen with DCS closed
Hmm, it's crashing inside the Qt module. @Number481 I suspect multiple threads might be accessing Qt api at the same time.
xml looks fine. no errors in the log... :pepe_hmm:
@QR4rigs can you record a video of the steps to reproduce the crash?
it's opening OK now, I will report back if the behaviour returns
The steps were to alter a few of the settings in the profile for the UH-1H (on the settings GUI)... then it closed in the middle of this... then I reinstalled the latest from GH and it still would close after a second... then I managed to get it open and no profile was selected and went to the Settings Manager screen (as DCS was no longer active) and scrolled to the UH-1H profile and it closed and would not stay open when relaunching TelemFFB. ... until I deleted that lua script then it opened OK and stayed open... it did close once but stayed opened when I relaunched TelemFFB
Seems stable for the time being
last time it closed it created this in Windows Event log:

Did you move the sliders while the sim was sending telemetry?
no
DCS was on the menu screen initially and closed for all other attempts
lol... OK... it's not opening and staying open again... and all I have done is re-read this thread....

I put some new memory in the PC a few days ago... let me do a memcheck .... just in case
all looks fine with the memory
and TelemFFB is opening and staying open again.
and I can open the profile for the UH-1H OK in Settings Manager (offline mode)
