xivlauncher on bazzitee
I installed bazzite recently on an external ssd (nvme in an enclosure) and saw that there is an xivlauncher in the install options so I picked it to test out my free trial. Each time I tried to install the patches the launcher with either crash then make my whole os freeze/crash or it will give me an error then do the freeze.
I tested both x11 and wayland from the login screen and they both led to crashes. I picked the options for free trial and not use steam as well.

right now I want to fix the issue with the desktop crashing and causing me to hard reset which is very annoying.

I also had alot of crashes, I had a little more success when I manually changed the wine in launcher to a custom one I installed in lutris, wine-9.9-staging-tkg, using proton-plus I believe. I also think it's less likely to bug out in X11 right now, but that's likely due Nvidia until the 555 driver gets merged to stable. But don't hold your breath.
is the launcher making my whole os freeze/crash a normal occurrence?
that never occured to me, the whole thing just disappear with an errors in my logs. You might have some deeper driver/hardware issues
