Cengage is a very interesting book. If done in right manner, you can do wonders in math. You should start with solved examples. If you are able to solve them, its good, if you can't just give it 1 or 2 tries and then look at the solutions. That is what I used to do, and yes in 11th i also find it hard. After completing the Solved examples, complete the internal exercises and then move on to the back exercises.

Give time in illustrations. This was the mistake I made initially. Don't rush to the exercises, before completing the illustrations.

yea thats what i do too. but i feel i wont be able to do it as sums are tough and im not able to do it in first try. does this happen to everyone, like is it a beginner problem? no dont, illustrations do matter.

Yes The illustrations are pretty much ex-2 and 3ish at max (according to the reso ones) The only problem is that the back exercises aren't arranged as difficulty. So, for some ch even the first qs can be quite hard.

yeah, it can happen, people vary, it may not happen with everyone just keep trying, rely less on watching solutions and more on trying out questions and thats the way, to do anything anywhere, even after jee
