Is it the same as the act triangle where I have to win a game in that rank to get the buddy? or does just getting to the rank give me the buddy at the end of the episode

To earn the ranked gun buddy in VALORANT, you don't need to win a game in that rank. You simply need to reach the rank at any point during the episode. At the end of the episode, you'll receive the gun buddy corresponding to the highest rank you achieved.
