Hey guys, question about medical accommodation to get a remote exception. I need some documentation to show why I can't go to the office and I said it's because I have to take care of a family member at home. They're going to ask for documentation obviously but how rigorous is the background check process on who writes the letter? Does anyone have any info on this?

Besides a doctor’s letter is there another way to “prove” I am the sole person responsible for X person?

Usually those accomodations do require a doctor's note

Get a real one and see what it looks like.
However, I'm assuming it has a company name and phone number on it. They may call if they get suspicious.
Also some HR people have told me 3 days of consecutive absences will require doctor's notes.
So maybe if you told them you only had to help out M/W/F they wouldn't need the note?
