Are suede chelsea boots still ok to buy/wear?

I'm a musician that has some approaching business casual/nicer but still relaxed shows sometimes and I was hoping to wear to get something like these https://www.endclothing.com/us/astorflex-bitflex-chelsea-boot-af-bfcb-419.html to wear with navy or khaki chinos. I heard these were really comfortable and a bit wider than most which I need. But I didnt want to buy them if they are super dated or out of style or something. Is that color good to go as well?

I’ll be honest, Chelsea’s kinda hit a critical mass sometime around 2016 - 2018 and I think we’re yet to recover. It’s a bit of a dated boot, but if you like it, go for it. Suede is a real motherfucker to clean tho, so if you’re a traveling musician, you could probably pretty easily destroy them by accident

Chelsea boots are timeless my man. I personally prefer full grain leather but you do you. I'd recommend maybe Meermin instead if you can go up in price. Then you're sure to be getting decent quality leather.

Yeah still 'ok to wear' but definitely a bit dated in a fashion sense especially that kind of tan suede style. A more workboot type chelsea / dealer boot like Blundstones might be better for the travelling musician lifestyle. Or can't go wrong with Doc 1460s at that sort of price range tbh All fairly safe classic options that are maybe not on the 'trendy' side exactly but won't look out of place

it’s the slim dress chelseas that are dated; i don’t think this really applies to more chunky chelsea boots like the ones by doc martens, solovair, or blundstones

Potentially cursed/blessed idea, suede Chelseas with western wear 🤔

Thank you, for the advice so far. Honestly I cannot do slim shoes anyway since my feet are wider. I have plantar fasciitis so its difficult to have comfortable shoes that look nice, especially when standing for hours, and I had heard these were very comfortable and a bit wider than most. The only boots I have that really feel comfortable are Alden boots and even they can be getting there by the end of a gig, but they are much more comfortable than any other boot I have ever had and I had heard the shape of these were somewhat similar to the trublance last on the Aldens. Cant really go up in price at this point, my job is kind of boom or bust and spring wasnt very good.

I just want to second the suggestions about Docs/Blundstones. Bigger/chunkier/more casual Chelseas are very much more "in" than the types you shared, but thats not at all saying that the astorflex are awful (I actually quite like them and would happily wear them) it really all comes down to just how "business casual" these shows are

These would be mostly for somewhat fancier hotel bar gigs. Rarely do we do a private party thats business casual but when thats the case its always a pain.
At these shows people (audience) will be dressed up a little. Maybe some sport jackets but nothing too wild, sometimes jeans sometimes not.
