Things are invisible unless I hover over them once

I don't know how else to explain it, and searching without really knowing what to call it resulted in nothing. The images show that until I hover over it, they won't display. I'm running on an SSD, ryzen 5600, rtx 3060ti

heic? I don't know if that photo format is visible on PC since I took the images from my phone since bazzite is a fresh install but when in the file explorer for example, trying to pick my roms folder for emudeck, the experience was terrible as half the time the folders were either invisible or the wrong folder until I clicked on it

lets start with what image are you using? You have an Nvidia GPU, are you using X11?

what do you mean by X11? I picked desktop, kde, Nvidia for the image

When you log in there is a dropdown bottom left in KDE, select Plasma (X11) and see if the issue persists

Yeah flickering and flashing is a common issue when you log in and use Wayland on an nvidia gpu

I haven't logged into Wayland if iirc, only touched emudeck so far and opera both did the same is this a 144hz issue? there isn't black flashing on my other two monitors at 60hz, but they do still bug out similarly

In the login screen look for a dropdown in the bottom left, you can select between Plasma and Plasma (X11) . Try that first and lets see if it helps

Glad to hear it. We should be getting proper Wayland support in the next few weeks but for now you have to use X11.

Came here with the same issue. Thanks @wolfyreload this seems to have fixed the same flickering and general weirdness that I was experiencing with my 4080.
