Summer shirts
I've always been pretty bad at choosing shirts compared to other clothes, and a combination of moving towards graphic tees and Summer approaching has left me looking for interesting summer shirts to layer with t-shirts (graphic or otherwise). Short sleeve camp collar shirts seem like an obvious choice, but I was wondering if anyone else had any shirts they prefer to wear for summer layers (or do you prefer accessorizing to make up for lack of layer-ability)?

Graphic tees are fine, short sleeve camp collars are fine, what makes a shirt 'good' for summer is whether you'll wear it and whether you'll be comfortable in it. Depending on your climate and heat tolerance, you could layer with a light overshirt/jacket, wear it open with a tee or tank or go with a single layer (be it a t, tank, shirt, whatever).
Generally, I'd pick up some linen shirts. Plenty available secondhand for less than mall brand retail. Wider/boxy/oversized fits and mebroidery are trendy right now, but the shirt you should buy is the one you will wear and be comfortable in.
Semi-synthetics (rayon, viscose), mesh, lace can all help to beat the heat.

Thank you, this was exactly what i was looking for
I live in MN so I don’t usually like to invest too much into summer clothes, but it can be humid and 90 for a couple weeks every year
Usually like 80-85 humid
Striped broadcloth buttondown shirts can be kind of cool with things like Patagonia baggies. Broadcloth is typical dress shirt material but is usually much lighter than oxford cloth (see @oxfordclothbuttondown on Instagram). I might have an example in WAYWT too
