The VAN -79 error generally indicates a connectivity issue with VALORANT’s servers. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue: 1. Restart Your Router: Sometimes, simply restarting your router can help reset the connection. 2. Check Your Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software isn't blocking VALORANT or Vanguard. You may need to add exceptions for both. 3. Flush DNS: - Open Command Prompt as an administrator. - Type the following commands one by one, pressing Enter after each:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
netsh winsock reset

ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
netsh winsock reset

4. Reinstall Vanguard: - Uninstall Riot Vanguard through the "Add or Remove Programs" feature in Windows. - Launch VALORANT, which will prompt Vanguard to reinstall. 5. Update Network Drivers: Make sure your network drivers are up to date. 6. Check Riot Support: If none of the above steps work, it might be a server-side issue. Keep an eye on the VALORANT support site for any announcements regarding server maintenance. If the problem continues, consider reaching out directly to Riot Support for further assistance.
