sound and rgb problems rog ally
So i have been using bazzite on my rog ally for a couple of days and im enjoying not having to deal with windows. But ive had some annoying bugs.
1. Sometimes sound starts to cut out especially when the system is under load. This is amplified when using lower tdp settings. This sometimes leads to the left speaker just not working anymore(fixes after reboot or sometimes fixes itself after 10-20minutes).
2. Using the pre installed rog manager app on bazzite destroyed my rgb controller to the point where not even armory crate on windows can control the lights. They are permanently off now.
Are there known fixes for the sound? Rgb seems to be unfixable from what i have found.

2) theres a setting somewhere in armory crate that enables them
or disables them
the rog thingy probably messed with that setting
Yeah, light settings dont do anything
I know it was determined that the root cause was not from anything directly part of Bazzite, but wondering if anyone has made any discoveries on how to fix the RGB bug?
The bug this user had is fixed
With the LEDs being always off
As far as spiral mode, we're waiting on a reply
This is an armory crate setting that we control now
We tried a lot of fixes for the rainbow bug but it doesn't want to budge
appreciate the info! really do, wish I had not gone tinkering with installing the ASUS-Linux.org instructions to get my XGM working
Wounldnt bother me as much if I didnt worry it was permenantly broken
Probably should report that bug to him too
He has contact with more Asus engineers than us
It's not permanently broken. It's broken until Asus pushes a firmware fix for it or we figure out a command to fix it
i added that to the GIT Hub issue entry here:https://github.com/ublue-os/bazzite/issues/1153

that what you are refering to?
No, you need to report the issue here https://gitlab.com/asus-linux
roger, thanks!
I do not have that good of a relationship with that maintainer I'll say, and leave it at that
😬
Otherwise I would have done it myself
No worries! I didnt realize that site wasn't maintained by ASUS directly 🥴

saw there was a MCU firmware update released on 7/31 when I booted back to Windows. But guessing that is not the firmware that controls the RGB as it didnt fix the issue.
That's the firmware
I think the issuebwasnt on the bazzite deck image, but on bazzite-ally which packaged all of this
Thanks for writing the report
Yes, we have a good relationship with Asus
That’s a bummer then, got excited when I saw this as an available update.
just happy to help, will add that I updated firmware there too.
Yes the MCU controls the leds
But an update does not seem to reset it
