It sounds like your laptop might be switching to a different power plan when plugged in, which may be throttling the performance. Here's a step-by-step solution:
1. Check Power Options:
- Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
- Select "High Performance." If not available, click 'Create a power plan' and use the "High Performance" settings.
2. Adjust Graphics Settings:
- Right-click on your desktop and select "Intel Graphics Settings" or "Graphics Properties.”
- Navigate to Power > Plugged In and make sure it’s set to "Maximum Performance."
3. Update Drivers:
- Ensure your Intel Iris Xe graphics drivers are up to date. Use the Intel Driver & Support Assistant from the Intel website.
4. Check Background Processes:
- See if any intensive processes start when you plug in the charger. Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to monitor this.
5. Thermal Management:
- Ensure your laptop is well-ventilated and not overheating, which can cause throttling.
After adjusting these settings, try playing VALORANT while plugged in to see if the issue persists.
