High ping can result from several factors, and distinguishing between server issues and your own Wi-Fi requires a bit of troubleshooting:
1. Check VALORANT Server Status:
- Sometimes, servers might be experiencing issues. Keep an eye on official VALORANT channels or visit Riot’s Support Site for server status updates.
2. Local Network Issues:
- Restart your modem/router: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary connectivity issues.
- Check network congestion: Ensure other devices or applications aren’t hogging bandwidth (like streaming or large downloads).
- Connect via Ethernet: For a more stable connection, try connecting your PC directly to the router via an Ethernet cable.
3. In-game Settings:
- Ensure you're connected to the correct regional server. Double-check your settings under the "Play" tab.
4. ISP Issues:
- Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to ensure there are no outages or issues in your area.
5. Advanced Troubleshooting:
- Run an admin Command Prompt and type:
netsh int ip reset
, ipconfig /release
, ipconfig /renew
, ipconfig /flushdns
, and netsh winsock reset
. After running these commands, restart your PC.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, consider submitting a ticket to Riot Games Support for further assistance.
