System completely locks up on single user root account with no password at lock screen
I know its generally not best practice to operate your OS without a password, but I ran into an interesting issue where if your password isn't set and you try to log in from the lock screen, the confirmation button does nothing. Clicking switch user then causes the system to hard freeze. KDE is being used for the environment.

Got it, I went in and added a password and the problem has resolved itself. I think its good I pointed this out though in case anyone else comes here asking about the same question.
I know this thread was closed, but related. Is there a way to setup the account so you skip the password screen when first booting up? If not, does setting up for the Steam-view require it? (The goal would be for my media center to not need a keyboard at start to put said password in on startup... I cant mess with tht mode though and try it out before the day I switch)
Yup. You can set up auto login. In Gnome it's easy. Open user account in settings. Unlock it and turn on auto login.
On KDE on the otherhand, it's not in a logical place. It's in System Settings >> Colors & Themes >> Login Screen (SDDM) >> Select Behavior and configure auto login
THANK YOU! no idea what that would be in colors and themes of all things, but that basically finishes everything I could need. (If Im not mistaken the instructions have automounting instructions, and I only need that for my media center)
Cool. You are welcome. Good luck with your media center config. There are automounting instructions in the Bazzite docs https://docs.bazzite.gg/Advanced/Auto-Mounting_Secondary_Drives/
thought so. Thank you again!
