Firefox is already running....

Just installed Bazzite yesterday and I'm using the version of firefox that came baked in. I made a new profile for FF and put it in my home directory since I don't have access to the .mozilla directory where the default profiles are and it worked fine. Closing FF and attempting to reopen it results in this error: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To use Firefox, you must first close the existing Firefox process, restart your device, or use a different profile." I checked system monitor and all processes but don't see anything called "firefox" and also did a ps -ef | grep firefox and didn't find anything running which I thought was peculiar. I was able to open the profile manager for FF and select the default profile and it loads with no issue. Is there a configuration or something I need to change to use an FF profile in a home directory? Is this a question better suited for FF support or here? Through further testing I discovered after using the profile in the home directory it leaves a lock file in the directory that I have to delete if I want to reopen FF again. Will do some research and see if I can figure out the fix.
