Discord fails to screenshare anything with Wayland to X11 Video Bridge

Hi there, I'm a relatively new Linux user so apologies if I'm missing anything obvious. When I attempt to screenshare within Discord, the window continuously shows as if it's trying to load the captured window/screen, but nothing actually ever gets captured. Additionally, I noticed that when selecting a source to capture, the "Screen Share" window continuously pops up whether I confirm a selection or if I close it out. Is this intended behavior? The preview after selecting a source appears to be stuck on a static frame, so, I suspect this could be part of the reason. I've provided my system configuration details below just in case: Operating System: Bazzite 40 KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.2.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0 Kernel Version: 6.8.10-301.fsync.fc40.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor Memory: 31.3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Product Name: X570 Phantom Gaming 4 WiFi ax

That behaviour you are experiencing is because the official Discord app doesnt support screensharing on Wayland

I'll give it a try and report back, thanks Looks like that did the trick, I have to click a couple more times than usual but as long as it functions its all good. Thanks for the help.

In my setup, is three times, one to select the window, the other for the quality settings and another one to select the window again May be a wayland portal misbehaviour, but it does the job in the end so its fine Another thing to take in consideration, do not move your mouse while you are streaming, it will create stutters in the stream as long as you move it This is a Chromium limitation and hopefully its fixed soonish
