How does mmr work
so ive been playing valorant for a while now being on and off the game, i just came back and havent played in a act but when i play, i play with my boy and i top frag 8/10 times in general, in this one game for example i went 20/9/3 and he went 14/10 and got 36 rr perfermance boost 7, i got 28 rr, their have been multiple games like this.

The performance bonus is, if you perform above your expected level
So basically, it is given for people that are playing above their current rank
Basically, they’re performing above the games expectations for their visual rank so it’s giving them a boost to get them quickly to their rank that they’re expected to perform it

That person who receives the performance bonus is the one that is performing above their rank expectations
Performance bonuses are received when you perform better. So if you perform better than other matches you have played you would receive it. It also doesn't have to be just about kills, A lot of different factors are taking into account to see if I got performance bonus
so what does that mean for me as im getting lower then him but performing better and hes on the bottom
First of all you're a higher rank
From the screenshots you provided you are gold three
and they are low gold 2
Meaning that he is most likely playing against people that are higher overall ranks that they are not supposed to be playing against
