Error while installing: mke2fs Input/Output Error

Hi, was wondering if anybody knows how to troubleshoot

Failed to execute child process "mke2fs" (Input/output error)

while installing bazzite-deck on steam deck? What steps should I take to resolve this, and what info could I provide to help diagnose this?
I should also note that I am installing the latest bazzite-deck (KDE) version from Ventoy.

Solution

I figure the main problem might be my USB stick then, since I just recieved the deck from steam support after a repair. I'm trying to order a new dongle, so we will see if that works!

usually indicates an issue with the drive or filesystem, in this case it could be the drive as it is trying to run a program to make a filesystem.

i would suggest you check the health of the drive you try to install on
