You can't
bruh seriously
That's how domains work?
yeah but they cant just change the name of the domain that was leased out
i paid them for a domain, i should be able to change the domain name at no or very little extra cost unless its a different .domain (like changing from .com to .net)
I'm not sure what to tell you? I don't think I know of any registrar that allows you to do that
well alright i guess
nevermind
it's not "leasing", registrars pay fees (CF has no extra fees, they just charge you what the registry charges them) to the registry (owner of com/net) and register a domain
well maybe leasing isn't that bad of a way to describe it, but leasing implies a sort of flexibility "just lease me something else". ICANN is the non-profit who sets all the rules on domains and procedures, a "name change procedure" simply doesn't exist, probably concerned about abuse and such as well. All CF does is interact with the Registry's APIs and can perform specific actions (like registering, updating, etc). It's all very controlled and defined by ICANN. The most a registrar could do is buy the other domain for you
:skull: did you seriously do zero research before purchasing a domain
this has never worked and never will work
Be nice
I am
selling the domain is an option
