Cache obscenely slow, even after purges and disabling smart topology

We have a domain assets.tangia.co that is cached with CF, and over the last 2 weeks it has started griding to a halt. <1MB images take 20s+ to load from gigabit connections, and we've purged the cache many times. It's directly hooked up to S3 so we know it's not the origin being slow

we also have basically a 100% cache hit ratio, so not sure what's going on here

taniga.co isn't a registered domain, the first thing I would check though is /cdn-cgi/trace and the colo line to see which location you're connecting to by airport code. If you're already connected talk to them, they've got more insight and tools then the community

I mean the 404 cached is plenty fast for me, would help to have an actual asset url, and which colo you are connecting to https://assets.tangia.co/cdn-cgi/trace/how close it is to you. Sometimes these things can be peering issues. If you already are talking to Cf through chat or something, stick with them/try them first

check the cf-ray response header on a slow response, the end bit there is the location you hit

could be something more specific, for example sometimes you're routed differently on IPv4 vs IPv6

you've gotten reports from a lot of normal users saying it's slow? any specific region or something?
DanTheGoodman

seems mostly US, but some from philippines too that seems a bit slow for cache hits if you're getting an EU cache

we just turned that off to see if that changed anything and i've purged twice since yeah its' not behaving right, and it's been going on for quite a while too so it feels more specific to us than a transient issue

If you have a paid plan/can reach out to support like you said above I would do so, not too much we can do if you feel it's something more specific just to you. I don't see it at all in ord at least, ~50ms cached, ~220ms cache busting, right back to ~50ms.
all of those went to FRA but FRA consists of multiple colos, so it might be that cache is now shared in MCP and that causes slower cache lookups?
shouldn't be 200ms slower for the same city lol

Yeah, I already have some folks on their team looking at it Their normal support channel unfortunately takes a while to escalate to the right folks
