After a reinstall (with removing the user data as well) it can be launched but crashes when i try to resize to full screen it also doesn't work when I boot into Kinoite with non free nvidia drivers

Let me see if it crashes for me too Nope seems to be stable for me. Could you try running slack from the terminal and see if it gives you any useful errors /usr/bin/flatpak run --branch=stable --arch=x86_64 --command=com.slack.Slack --file-forwarding com.slack.Slack @@u %U @@

Not really It only happens when double clicking the top of the app to make it full screen got this while also doing manual resizing from the corners

It might just be a bad wrapper. Does the electron app version give you any advantage over the web version?

being already set up and proper notifications

Are you in X11 or Wayland?

wayland

I can reproduce in Wayland, X11 is more stable for the app it seems It still randomly crashes in X11 though

no issue with flatpak slack here, need it for work
dpeter99
dpeter99OP8mo ago
I didn't have any problems on wayland with the open source dirvers for NVIDIA
Kyle Gospo
Kyle Gospo8mo ago
on top of that, flatpaks use their own libraries/dependencies so there's nothing we can do to fix this about as divorced from bazzite as something can be
dpeter99
dpeter99OP8mo ago
I mean does work on a base Kinoite image and not with Bazzite so the breaking is somewhere in there.... I get that you don't control the libs but could you at least give me some debug infoon your setup that works? like what Slack version are you on? what gpu do you have etc etc

latest flatpak, 4 different AMD GPUs
dpeter99

and I specifically said that this was after switching to the NVIDIA drivers so the fact it works for you is kinda given...
Kyle Gospo
Kyle Gospo8mo ago
you said you switched -- so not a new install? org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.nvidia make sure you have the nvidia flatpaks

hmm booted back to bazzite from testing with base kinoite and it works now.... also flatpack search didn't find any package with that name
