Why are lighter hues of Blue (Royal Blue) generally considered less professional than Navy Blue?
Title. Just curious, as I was reading up on the topic and it was generally mentioned that Navy Blue was the accepted professional standard. Where do the more “bluer” blues, like Royal Blue or Azure Blue fit in?

Formality in western menswear is generally associated with somber, serious, uniform. For all sorts of reasons brighter colours don't have these cultural associations.
