Are you hard wired with an ethernet cable?
Yes
It also does this, i forgot to add.
oh woah, that jitter.
Anything on those packet loss graphs?
every now and then, yes. but for the most part its 0
Cool, we can take a look on our end to see if anything changed. If you can drop
1. Who's your ISP?
2. What country you're playing from?
3. What game server locations you see this on?
That would be awesome and give us something to check. If you don't feel comfortable posting them, feel free to DM them to me.
1. My ISP is Google. (i use google fiber)
2. US
3. Virginia
Cool, I take it closer to the East Coast?
yeah
mhm. I see some periods of time where Google Fiber's latency kinda goes insane. How long do those latency spikes last?
just about 30 seconds
sometimes longer
Ya know how to run a traceroute?
From our end it looks like Google Fiber customers are seeing some latency perioidically, so I'm guessing Google Fiber might be doing something funky with your VALORANT packets. If you can catch a traceroute when it's not happening and when it's happening we could possible figure out what's happening.
We've got a little article on how to run a traceroute https://support-valorant.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/360047225674-How-to-Use-Tracert-to-Obtain-Network-Logs. You want to run it to the NA one, 192.207.0.1. Feel free to ping me via DM's if you catch it happening and get a traceroute.
My guess is something's happening in Google's network before it gets handed off to us.
The internet's a scary and confusing place that's always changing. So the problem could be around today, and gone tomorrow. But if you catch it send it me way. 👊
