A few questions about HASS.Agent recent changes

I've used HASS.Agent for a few years to send toast notifications to my PC. They recently stopped working and I finally decided to explore why. I've poked around and I have a few questions. (1) There is a lot of talk about release 2.0.0 and I am confused because I am using version 2022.14.0 which would seem to indicate something has changed. Has HASS.Agent been reborn under new custodians? Sorry if I have been under a rock. I found documentation on how to migrate, but migrate to what? (2) In the past I have solved issues on the HA side by deleting the HASS.Agent integration and restarting HA and in no time autodiscovery finds the Agent and all becomes well again. That isn't the case anymore. Plus, my HA autodiscovery actually finds two HASS.Agent clients, including one that was on an old PC I haven't turned on in many months. How is HA "finding" this old agent? Strange. (3) Under HACS I have HASS.Agent v2022.11.9 and this has a warning that the agent must be 2022.13.0 or later to work properly. Obviously Agent v2.0.0 doesn't jive with this. My HA is 2024.5.3.

I see. This client has been reborn in a sense. I can manage migrating the client on my PC. But on the HA side is v2022.11.9 still valid or do I have to remove it from HomeAssistant and reinstall a new integration? I am thinking yes (I must remove and replace).

Yes, there are breaking changes on 2024.5 of home assistant. Fixes have been made on the beta branches. So make sure to download 2.1.0 which is beta and make sure to use the beta documentation which will give you instructions for the beta integration from us This process will be improved soon, just while it's in beta

Is the new HACS repository findable by searching? I can only find the original one. (The button provided won't work for me as my HA instance is on a Virtual Machine) Update: I think i got it here https://github.com/hass-agent/HASS.Agent-Integration

You can setup the button to work for any access method with some browser settings That is the repo, however if you followed the install page and added the custom repo it should've showed up?

Yes. I ran into an issue only because i was browsing and using discord on a machine different from the one I use to connect to my HA instance. I just figured out the exact name of the custom integration and added it under "Custom repositories." I have a remaining question. On the HA side I have removed and replaced the HA Integration with 2.1.0-beta1. On the Windows client side I installed 2.0.1 and it successfully copied the config. I uninstalled the older version of HASS.Agent. On the HA side, it is still discovering two machines. The first is the one I expect. The second is an old machine that I decommissioned and which is actually powered off. How is this old machine being discovered? (Other than this mystery, everything is working again)

The mqtt data from the old machine must still be on the broker, you can use something like mqtt explorer to find and remove the topic
