Why not this?

They have asked the component of A which is perpendicular to vector B, not which is perpendicular to B cos theta. Thus you will take the component of A namely Acos(theta) for vector B. There is no need to take B cos(theta) as that is not going to help.

But a cos theta and b to same direction me hai in diagram
KaiZên
KaiZên9mo ago
That is just to show ki itna distance ka projection nikalna hai... projection of vect A on b = Acos(theta)

Matlab? Me samjha nhi You mean ki a cos theta vector b ke perpendicular nhi hai blki uske parallel hai ya pair Thoda angle bna hai?
lmaodedXD
lmaodedXD9mo ago
no that's not b cos theta 💀 what you've labeled as b cos theta is actually A sin theta
Spooderman
SpoodermanOP9mo ago
Yes mb I found that before So how is a cos theta perpendicular to b vector?
lmaodedXD
lmaodedXD9mo ago
it is not, A cos theta is along (parallel to, or can say, kind of superimposes)b vector
Gaurav

So when the question is asking about perpendicular component why we taking this?
lmaodedXD
lmaodedXD9mo ago
accha perpendicular pucha hai toh A sin theta lo, wo perpendicular to b vector hoga sorry maine dekha nahi

But solution me to a cos theta Liya Hai 💀

Projection perpendicular hi hota ?
lmaodedXD
lmaodedXD9mo ago
nahi, projection matlab uska component ALONG the other vector

Vector B lo. Usko plot kardo. Vector A lo, aur usse plot karo, just like how the diagram is given. Abhi vector A jo hai, voh B ke upar ek shadow jaisa maar rha hai, am i right?

Abhi agar aap dekhoge, A costheta ek dum B ke upar baith rha hai, while A sin(theta), B se perpendicular hai. Projection of A on B matlab, A ka koi component B ke upar shadow jaise baithna chahiye. Hope you are able to understand now...

Make a right angled triangle with the magnitudes of the components you got, then find the hypotenuse. Then use sin theta or cos theta formula to find the angle. Anytime bro, wishing you the best!
