I cant understand how x is <= -a and x>=a if |x| >= a

if mod x >= a how can it be <=-a ?

ohhhhh, it is the value of x ic, if x < -a then |x| would be greater than it and if x>a then as it is |x| >= a

if x is positive then it has to be greater than a and if x is negative the magnitude of x has to greater than a i.e x < -a or
