Spotify will not open
Might not be a bazzite issue. Spotify will not open. I tried reinstalling through the discover page but no luck.
Wondering if there is a linux user way to resolve issues like this that does not involve turning pc on and off lol.

if it launches for other people but not for you i would look into removing the flatpak data for spotify in
~/.var/app/
and then try again25 Replies
Hi Marko, I usually right click on the launcher, go into properties and see what it runs to launch the app and just run it in the terminal and read the error message
arr okay
But let me see if spotify is broken for me too
so to launch spotify it's running this
/usr/bin/flatpak run --branch=stable --arch=x86_64 --command=spotify --file-forwarding com.spotify.Client @@u %U @@
It's launching for me
saved me time as was struggling to hit properties as it would close fast
I did just update so maybe somethign to do with that
I may have to take the L and restart the pc lol
not launching the app and look at properties. when you in the KDE menu, you can right click on any item and view properties of the launcher and gt the command line output
I tried that at first via the start menu which is the only launcher location I currently know of
added to desktop
and then could hit properties
duh
ohhh click on "Edit Application" sorry was thinking of windows lol
/var/home/marko/.local/share/flatpak/exports/share/applications/com.spotify.Client.desktop
lol no problem
let me see
try restart your machine and see if it's still an issue
okay
brb
just saving my work
weirdly I get the same error as you but it launches, I mean this one "/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcurl.so.4: no version information available (required by /app/extra/share/spotify/spotify)"
well I restarted the pc and sadly the same thing
I guess I will be running from the web browser as seems there is nothing obvious lol
You might be able to use the pwa instead
pwa?
progressive web app
I just made a shortcut to it on my desktop and changed the icon to spotify
so it shows upt he same at the bottom
should be good enough I guess
no need to count on an undependable app for me at least 🙂

I figured maybe cache related but did not know where to start with that right of the bat
randomly started to work
before I got around to your solution
but asking me to login again so appears it somehow did it before I did
noticed where to find application data though
problem solved
