Does this look weird?
Does the height of the hem show off the boots more or make it look strange?

I wanted to go for something like this
i think i've done a very similar fit before a few years ago. i like a harness boot, i own a very similar pair. i think they're fun, and there's a good place for that boot.
i think the jeans are pretty tough to use here few 2 reasons:
1. the colour contrast is not my favourite, i think if you're going to wear slimmer with a harness boot, it's much easier not to fuck up.
2. the crop is too high on the jean. a straight leg might feel nicer here.
This was my attempt many years ago. I think if I redid it, it’d probably be looser on the jeans for sure.
I dont understand the first point you made
the jeans to boot ratio look perfect in your example
but if I could I've have them hemmed up to where you have them folded
to be honest, these days i'm not sure i would roll them
this was from quite a few years ago, so i'd probably try a looser pant
This person is sitting down so the pants hate higher than they would be normally
I think the crop + the slim cut are hurting each other
A looser cut and a longer inseam would both be better
Doesn’t have to be extremely longer
nah
I want slim
Even so
I’m not saying you need a loose cut
Just that this exact pair isn’t working in my opinion
I agree, the hem is too high and i feel like my legs are too muscly/large
It’s never your body, it’s always the clothes that are wrong
that's a very sweet sentiment
But yeah a slightly looser pair that’s a little longer would improve this imo, I also agree with billiams that the mid wash of these aren’t quite right for the look you’re after
nah i think this is actually a mindframe thing too. cos i have chunky legs, but enjoyed slimmer fitting jeans for a while.
and while i don't think it looked BAD, i think slim fit for me, would've been straight leg, not actual slim fit, if that makes sense.
i needed more thigh and calf room
I see
uniqlo or HM probably have good straight leg trousers
or nice jeans
think about it this way, for normal normans - slim fit is slim fit. for bigger leg lads - straight leg is basically slim fit
Yeah
Yeah fit is always relative
The labels should really just be about what’s the leg shape below the waistband
Then you just go by dimensions for how much room you want
Here’s an example of a SLP boot with more of a flare and wider
it's still relatively slim
