failed to test media
I just downloaded the iso from the official website and flashed it with Fedora Media Writer and I get this error. What can I do?

skip it, the media test is broken atm last i checked. @Noel might know better than me
It shouldn't be? I'll check in with upstream on it.
I flashed bazzite again but this time with Rufus and I get the same error, so I'm good to go? I think its a bug ig
oh nvm I can't install it even if I skip the media test
If you're having issues booting this ISO, ensure the Setup Utility -> USB Configuration -> USB Dual Role Device setting in your BIOS is set to XHCI and not DRD.
this is specifically for the steam deck
Are you flashing this from a Windows PC?
as far as recommendations for flashing ISOs, we recommend Fedora Image Writer, Ventoy, or Etcher. I've had good luck with all of those.
I haven't used Rufus in a while as I don't run windows.
yes, it is set to XHCI
yes a windows desktop
as I said on the post I used Fedora media writer, but I just wanted to check if it would work with Rufus, but both programs gave me the same results
I'm not sure then. The error you are showing I've only seen on the deck when XHCI is not set properly. I would double check it otherwise try a different USB?
That's the problem unfortunately that I had. Windows likes to put it's own files on USB drives that are mounted (like some hidden stuff the system needs to use to index it or something). So when a USB is ejected, etc, it puts data on the drive which modifies the USB slightly giving you a failure in the test when using Fedora images. I recommend using Balena Etcher. When Balena Etcher completes flashing to the drive after verification just pull the USB out. It's how I got past that problem.
So I tried with Balena Etcher and I got the same error message but for some reason it let me install Bazzite, the thing is after about 5 minutes I get this error as I thought
I don't have another USB at the moment, Bazzite will have to wait D:
I'm having this exact same issue?
I even went so far as to buy a brand spanking new flash drive
and the media test still fails
I'm using balena etcher
but I will try the "pull as soon as verification is done" trick
yup, tried that, still is not working
This may be a pain in the ass, but I would download something like Pop Os because I believe it doesn't do the check, and then put Bazzite on a USB there with Balena.
So I actually had a successful install of bazzite despite the boot media test failure
I used fedora media writer on that bazzite to write the media and the check passed lol
