where are the go-to places for inspiration albums? I’ve been out of the game a while
I’m looking to get started with dressing better daily around work. I’m a business owner, our business is taking off and I want to dress more professionally. I’ve lost enough weight that I’m okay buying clothes now without risk of them not fitting and have enough money to spend to really overhaul. I’m a serious person and I want my style to match that. I just have no idea where to start

#inspiration and #waywt are both great options here in this discord - if you like a fit in waywt usually the person will be happy to talk more about it
being able to cultivate your own inspiration is also helpful imo - using sites like Pinterest or likes/saves on Instagram or TikTok can help in compiling images you find compelling
i would also strongly encourage reading this article https://malefashionadvice.substack.com/p/on-the-development-of-personal-style which also merited this discussion https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1235984218715066488
On the development of personal style
—finding the self through embracing self-expression and cultivating personal style—
Imo premade "inspiration albums" were a very Reddit and early Pinterest thing. But nowadays just following people on Instagram or tiktok and maybe Derek Guy on twitter is what'll work for most
That guide on developing personal style is a pretty good resource
Putthison.com and dieworkwear.com (both mostly Derek Guys articles) really helped me define looks i was happy with
Strongly suggest making your own inspiration. Save fits/articles/pics you like in a centralized and accessible place like a Google Doc or your own Discord server, that way you can add to it or check it from your phone or your computer whenever
Regarding dressing professionally, Derek's bizcaz article is solid https://putthison.com/how-to-do-business-casual-without-looking-like-a/

How To Do Business Casual Without Looking Like a Schmuck
It’s never been harder to figure out how to dress for work. A generation ago, the average office uniform was...
it's nothing that the idea of "professional style" has and continues to evolve post-pandemic especially in more creative fields (the few times i show up in office my bosses are wearing jeans and quarter zips while i'm in blazers or tailoring lol). as a business owner i imagine you have a little more leeway in establishing a culture of dress within your company, but with vendors, clients, etc you may have to reconcile your serious style with others' different views.
Ironically, we’re mostly all work from home, I rarely meet with vendors lol. But to me it’s a mindset thing and I’ve always been that way. I do usually work an hour or two per day at a coffee shop to get away from my desktop and see other humans in the wild.
Oh wow that’s so awesome thank you so much
can relate; i'm also wfh in a fairly conservative field and also find a benefit to dressing up each day even if i only usually see my husband or someone at cvs
eventually i realized no one cared how i dressed but me and i shifted thinking to dressing with intention which imo lot more success in scaling my personal style to a more 'professional' mode
Love that
