Pants too wide?

First post, pretty new to fashion. Just got these wide fit chinos and have no idea what to wear with them. I assume I can't wear a form-fitting top with them or I'll look like a clown. Am I right in thinking tees with untucked unbuttoned button-ups are safe? Also curious if the belt is too dark or formal for the pants. I intend to wear mainly my brown loafers and clean white sneakers with them if that matters.

Not too wide 1 is good Personally not a fan of a tee underneath the shirt look Or at least that specific one. There’s not enough color contrast and there isn’t visual interest A ribbed tank, textured tee or a plain tee with jewelry would look better underneath

Thanks for the advice! Follow-up questions: Does 1 being good depend on the shirt being oversized, on the fun colors/pattern, or both (I assume a light blue regular fit ocbd would look much worse?) My understanding of color is weak but would revising fit 2 to something like olive tee+dark grey button-up or grey tee+navy button-up be an improvement?

fit is good pattern is a plus i think it's mostly fit bc a shirt with the same color/pattern but a bad fit wouldn't work as well also the unbutton gives it a very solid proportion not present on teh 3rd phoot

Yes #1 is definitely the best. Also can you tell the belt you are using. Is that a Uniqlo one?

Thanks all! @Bluboy the belt is a random $20 belt from Nordstrom rack, Vince Camuto brand.
