Trigger Automation from Quick Actions?

Is there a way to trigger an automation from a quick action? I must be missing it. I've tried On, Toggle, and Play. Scripts will trigger with "on", but my automation isn't. I've gone to creating a script for the sole purpose of triggering the automating as a stop gap. 🍻 I apologize if I missed it in docs.
Solution:
have the quick action toggle a boolean helper with that as the trigger for an automation?

That's a good idea, and a little simpler than an extra script. I'll give that a try. Thank you!

Why would you want to trigger an automation? In my limited use of Hass automations I use automations to trigger scripts Meaning you can just trigger script from quick actions Personally I use node red so aren't much help, but just curious

Just seeing this. I believe this was rooted in wanting to be able to trigger an existing automation vs duplicating the actions in a script. I'm pretty new to HA and created many of my sequences within automations. I have found myself moving some to scripts that get called from the one or more automations to simplify revisions and reduce redundancy, but it's definitely a work in progress.

Yeah okay, that seems completely valid. In that case I guess you would have to go with @Teh_Fonz's solution, or move to a script like you said
