Legion Go won't boot after latest updates
It's kinda difficult to describe, so this will be messy.
I can't get either SteamOS nor Linux to boot after the latest update that came today (?). I updated yesterday, and that's when it happened.
After the Legion Go powers on, I have tried manually booting both SteamOS and Linux, and the same thing happens:
Boot screen shows, after a few seconds the screen goes black. I can see that the screen is still on, and I have even waited for it to drain my battery. Nothing happens. But when I tap the power button, the same boot screen shows and the device turns off. This just happens all the time, except for when the battery got totally drained - after that SteamOS booted normally, and I saw the latest update and tried that to see if it was fixed. No luck :/
Since I can't get to Linux, I can't get any terminal output, so it's hard to give any more information other than I think this happened on the two latest updates.
Are there any other ways, like safe mode or plain UNIX terminal?

you can press ctrl + alt +f2 to open a terminal
my guess is that you might be seeing this issue https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1cmjboo/the_new_update_killed_my_deck/
seems to be decky related
Ah, okay! Then I'm not alone. I'll try to uninstall some decky's if I ever get in
On rog ally update stuck at 99% 😅
Terminal shows "Fedora Login" for a few seconds
You need to login after opening the terminal, then swap to desktop mode
I forget the exact command to open desktop mode, one min
steamos-session-select plasma
Then in desktop mode, go uninstall decky or remove plugins that you think could be badDont even remember how to install/uninstall plugins 😅

Steam Deck: Decky Loader 60 Second Fix (Missing; Broken; Won't Re-I...
Decky Loader worked yesterday - doesn't work today. Maybe it disappeared completely. Perhaps one of your plugins is simply dead or are crashing Decky Loader completely.
What's worse? Re-installing does nothing. Even uninstalling and reinstalling ... does nothing.
In less than a minute, we'll get you working again.

For the more curious t...
note that i have a LGO on the latest bazzite and it's booting correctly, etc
so i wouldn't be surprised if this is a decky issue
so... im having this same problem, except i cant open a terminal.
black screen after legion go/bazzite logo
I got terminal to load once, but then i couldn't enter anything on my keyboard... am i going to have to reinstall bazzite? lol
Have you tried clicking CTRL+ALT+F2 when the screen is black after the "failed" boot?
Are there any log-files which I can check for errors? Like systemctl journald?
Yep, it acts like it's frozen
Im gonna reinstall bazzite after work no big deal
it doesnt work
Same issue
It did work turns out
But the fn lock was autoenabled
We're you able to get to the desktop? I can't even get to the desktop
It just hangs after the black screen
Ok figured out why it happens
Whys that?
Only happens once in my case from f39 to f40 or back
A reboot fixes it
I held select to reboot
Holding the power button might mess it up
I can't even get the screen to come on after the boot logo
I got to terminal once and I can access it again
Cant
It wouldn't even let me type
Just hold the select button
Bottom left
On boot up ?
When you get the black screen
Holding select when the device is powered on, makes it vibrate three times, then reboot
Ah OK is that the top left button?
On the bottom right
Left
Bottom left always
@Kairi What happens when the screen is black, and you tap the power button?
Even if you swap them
Not at home ATM, but iirc nothing just shows the light
I'll be at home in an hour
Okay. When I tap the power button, it just shows the boot screen again and turns off
Right now my device is on and in Game mode, after getting to desktop via terminal - so i just havent rebooted so I can use the console 😅
Yeah like exactly what happens is, the device powers on, legion go and bazzite logo shows up. Then it attempts to load Linux ig and stays on the black screen
Ok im home, i will try the select thing
Ok it rebooted.
Oh hey it booted this time!
