Games crashing on bazzite Legion Go - forcing legion go to reboot
Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this - when playing games like Witcher 3 or running eumlation on things like Yuzu/Suyu etc, the Go will just crash and hard reboot randomally.
I noticed this happens on the Steam gaming mode and not on desktop mode. I made a bug ticket on github with more details. These all work fine on my windows install so I don't think it's a hardware issue.

What version of Bazzite are you on? Are you on latest bios? Did you install HHD and/or SDTDP plugins?
I've encountered crashing when I was on 40 20240502 along with some other issues. I had to rebase to 39 20240406. I also experienced full sudden shutdowns. I am on the latest bios and while using tdp controls in SDTDP I needed to enable Legion GO Custom TDP option to prevent this. I've also experienced freezes and crashes in Yuzu EA. This is caused by shaders and to fix it, I needed to delete that shader folder. I don't know what causes this shader issue.
Ik we discussed this yesterday, I was able to get the issue to not happen in dx12 witcher 3 by resetting ingame settings and then setting them back to how they were in the ingame pause menu. Not exactly sure, a issue nonetheless but worth a shot. 2 launches after editing and it didn't freeze to a black screen either time
@Kerelenko On the latest bazzite as of yesterday
I tried this on v39 on 0406 as well and had the same issue. I am using HHD and SimpleDeckyTDP and had tried the lenovo custom tdp setting. I was able to reproduce the issue with it both on and off. I haven't tried on DX11 Witcher 3 but i ran into this issue on emulators too so i don't think it's a game specific thing. Probably something to do with some software issue. I don't think devices hard rebooting is a good recovery mechanism since on Windows these all work well so wondering if it's a GPU driver issue. On emulator crashes I was plugged in docked mode and had max tdp setting on so I don't think it was an issue with the device not getting enough power. I was just able to reproduce it reliably on withcer 3 so used that to test all the different images and combinations I could but couldn't find a solution that would completely fix it. I did notice though when I had my GPU clock manually set it would happen less frequently but still would happen. Oh i also tried it with SDTDP completely off/uninstalled just using lenovos custom tdp option like power/balanced/performance eg. and still ran into it. And also with just using HHD's TDP option alone too but didn't make a difference

On emulators especially the citrusy kind, I get freezing. I was advised to clean my fan. I did and it still froze. I then notice that the device was being too silent, so I installed LegionGoRemapper plugin which has fan curves and also went back to 39 0406 - so far it's being stable right now.
but tbh, this is just the nature of community software. π
Yeah i wondered if it was thermal throttling but i do have the custom fans on and it would sometimes crash when the device was at like 70 degrees so not sure. But i do have fans working
Yeah for sure, not really expecting it to be perfect, just made this thread in case it helps devs debug. I'm using windows for now but really loved the bazzite exp. hopefully it can get patched if someone can see whats going on π
Test with another 1Z(E) device would help to narrow it down
Maybe it is a problem specific to that soc, on the mean time I'll try to crash my 7840U on yuzu later this week to see if it is an RDNA3/mesa issue
Yeah i just reverted back to windows, couldn't run Bazzite stabliy any longer on the Go. Wish it can get a fix in soon
