t-shirt peek
I've definitely seen interesting fits where a longer tee can be seen beneath the hoodie, making a cool layering effect, but I never feel like it looks good on me. Maybe the crop/proportions are off? Some attempts vs no peek.

its the elastic, which is wrinkling the shirt and making it look unintentional. Try a hoodie with a looser elastic on the bottom (or removed).
