Scroll wheel bindings won't work on Steam Deck in any game after latest update

I don't know what happened but I think after the latest bazzite update, the scroll wheel bindings seem to have broke. For example, I have my scroll wheel bindings set to L1 for scrolling up and to L2 for scrolling down but for some reason they just stopped working in this update.

I am also experiencing this. It seems the scroll wheel option is broken on game mode no matter what non-Steam game you launch. This makes using Discord on game mode really annoying, for example. Likely related, based on doing some searches on here: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/gamescope/issues/1180

As a workaround, I've had luck controlling both Firefox and Discord with the touchpad... not the best, but it works. It seems like a mitigation is actively being worked on by the Bazzite devs: https://discord.com/channels/1072614816579063828/1187140365115998291/1235988351807520799

also gamescope is a bit broken atm when used nested, new version had fixes for a lot of things when it came to handhelds, but last night (since i finally got to sit down and play something) noticed that there have been a lot of regressions for other things when used in nested mode i am already working on a way to provide both old gamescope and new gamescope but i need to go back and make a custom build of it for it

yeah that workaround idea did not work out sadly. so i will just say use the workaround mentioned in the thread. save this as a .desktop file, close steam and launch this (this is for desktop mode if you need nested gamescope)

change the values to match what you want for gamemode we will have to wait for upstream to fix it as joshua is looking into it.

still doesn't seem to work after the updates I don't exactly need nested gamescope, I need the scroll wheel bindings for a specific game that otherwise would make it pretty annoying to deal with

I had the same frustration... needed the scroll wheel bindings. I rolled back to Bazzite:39 and things are working again. I ran rpm-ostree rebase ostree-image-signed:docker://ghcr.io/ublue-os/bazzite-deck:39, but had the GPG error, so needed to run this as well cd /etc/pki/rpm-gpg sudo ln -s RPM-GPG-KEY-rpmfusion-free-fedora-2020 RPM-GPG-KEY-rpmfusion-free-fedora-39
