installing Veracrypt
Does anyone here use veracrypt? I tried using containers but was getting an error when running the app. Should I just layer it with os-tree? I don't know if there is an alternate way to use the app.

no but they have an rpm so if the container gave an error try layer it, if it still errors out it might be because they need to update their packages for newer fedora versions... solution then is a distrobox for fedora 38
because "getting an error when running" and not telling us the error is not helpful 😛
Sorry this happened last night so I don't remember the exact error. I will have to look later today. This was in an arch container.
I did try installing it in a Fedora container from the rpm package and it seemed to install correctly. When I ran veracrypt from the terminal nothing showed up.
can be that it relies on dependencies (that are not defined in the rpm for some reason because they were default in fedora 38 but not anymore?) that no longer exist and the only container that would work is fedora 38, thats my guess at least
(veracrypt:42431): Gtk-WARNING **: 17:44:46.113: Failed to measure available space: The specified location is not supported
I get this error in the terminal when i try to open my vault.
within veracrypt I get this error "Failed to set up a loop device:"
this is within a Fedora 38 container
You will likely need a rootful container. Loop devices usually require superuser privileges.
the root container did not work. I guess I will need to try layering the program.
