Cant switch to X11 in sddm
I have installed x11 from ostree in latest fedora version of bazzite as it was removed by default but i cant seem to be able to set it in SDDM as it always goes back to plasma one time launch which is a wayland config
btw ignore the flickering's on screen i was just using teamviewer and its hella sluggish when using wayland thats why i am trying to switch to x11

Hi Void . I can reproduce what you are seeing in the nvidia desktop image of Bazzite. What appears to be happening is what is currently selected user in the config is saved to a "/usr/share/sddm/themes/01-breeze-fedora/theme.conf.user" and the /usr/... folders are part of the readonly filesystem in atomic desktops. I suspect that this is an upstream issue that isn't Bazzite specific. You can see the error message if you open the settings screen via "systemsettings" in the terminal.
Weirdly enough the autologin works for me even though it doesn't save properly in the theme settings.
I have a VM with Kinoite, I'm going to check if I get the same error there.
Yup exact same issue in Kinoite
As @wolfyreload said it isnt possible without commiting an overlay change on the ostree quite a bit of hassle so i just installed gnome version and that suits my needs better Thanks for anyone reading search on how to write an overlay commit on the read only file system of the ostree that should get you somewhere will close this thanks
did you install plasma-workspace-x11?
