nextjs project suddenly stuck in building phase without throwing an error and log does not progress

This happened randomly in the past (altho' was hitting memory limit error), but today I can't seem to get out of it and all by build progress until a certain point and then progress stop, but pipeline still seems to do something. See picture of the hanging state. Note that build works locally and literally same code build succesfully this morning. Would appreciate to understand why this is happening and how to avoid it.
