I don't see how to initiate a domain transfer into CF
I have an auth code from the current registrar -- what do i do with that?

Is the domain already registered as a Zone on your account?
i think so -- i.e., i created an entry under the "Websites" section of the dashboard; I'm guessing that's a zone since there's a "zone id" but that's the only mention of this term.
i can't understand the DNSSEC instruction (Avoid DNS resolution issues caused by DNSSEC). should i have this ON or OFF?
turn it off before the transfer, and back on once you've successfully transferred
(or if you didn't have it on before, you can just keep it off)
it seems that i can't transfer since i bought the domain recently (it's a TLD CF doesn't support -- i.e., ".space").
so i guess in the meantime i need to configure the existing DNS to allow CF to update DNS records?
transferring wouldn't get around the tld limitations anyway
if it's not supported to register for, it's not supported to transfer
oh
yea you can just point the nameservers at Cloudflare, and use CF for DNS, and then have the registrar be external.
ok so then I would need DNSSEC on?
DNSSEC is an optional security mechanism
it's debated how useful it is
if it's confusing to you/you don't care for every bit of security (I mean, few popular websites use it, like google/stripe/etc don't), then I wouldn't bother
ok -- so i have updated the name servers
so i should now be able to configure custom domains using this zone - correct?
Well it takes somewhere between a few mins to 48 hours for your website to be active in CF, depends on registrar/tld for exact speed
what do you mean custom domains, like Pages Custom Domains?
yes
wait until becomes active in CF, you'll get an email, and then you should be able to. You might be able to jump the gun, but I would just wait, shouldn't be too long
ok the verification just completed -- that was quick
ok then yea you're set to go lol
great -- thanks very much -- again.
